Something I learned on my kendo travels...
A lower kamae is stronger than a higher one. Quite simple yes? Gedan is stronger than chudan, and chudan is stronger than jodan. However, by stronger it is meant more advantageous. It makes sense really if you think about the waza and kata, especially kata 3 and kaeshi-do.
There are however 2 caveats (warnings):
1) if you're a beginner, stick to chudan because (and this is the more important thing to remember), 2) if your aite is very good at tsuki (or quite frankly if you're aite is much stronger than you), stick to chudan.
Anyway just something I just learned myself...it will be interesting to see how this works in application.
