If any of you have ever taken apart a new shinai, or put together a new one, you will probably have discovered that the most difficult part is getting that tsuka grip back on. The main problem is that you need a bit of lubricant for the leather so that the bamboo slides easily into it, however, what to use that won't just cause the leather to move? Solution: Zam-Buk. Yes, that's right, Zam-Buk. That favourite for burns, cuts, and other small body issues works great as a lubricant and best of all, unlike things like oil (bad) or vaseline, Zam-Buk dries and dries quickly, leaving no residue and only a not-so-bad smell (it's medicine, what do you expect).
Anyway, give it try if you are having difficulty with the tsuka grip but I take no responsibility for mishaps...remember, grease sparingly and point shinai away from you.

Thanks for the trick.
My previous "trick" is brute force, LOL. It's working for me but usually not for a female kendoka in my dojo.

Yes, I guess so. And this "Zam-Buk" seems reducing the side effect compared to other lubricants.
